Welcome to Our Website! Take a look around and get in touch today!
We are proud to be a uniformed organisation, it is one of the many parts of Girlguiding that are special and brings us together as a group. Unless specified, all of our Guides should wear their uniform to all unit meetings, trips and events. Guides can sew their badges onto their uniforms, a camp blanket or another place of their choosing. Find badge guidance here.
Please see the uniform options for our members below. Official uniform can be bought from https://www.girlguidingshop.co.uk/. Our unit specific items are available from www.yourschooluniform.com.
We encourage our members to think about sustainability and take a look in charity shops or second hand websites such as vinted to buy their uniform too. We have a small amount of second hand uniform for sale directly from the unit. Take a look here.
The Girlguiding uniform changed in summer 2026. Old uniform items may still be worn.
Tops: Guides should wear a Guides T-shirt.
Jumpers: Guides should also wear a uniform jumper. They can then choose between a hoody, gilet, or to wear both together. (P.s. the gilet turns into a camp pillow!)
We have our own branded unit hoodies which are perfect for trips/camps and they can be purchased via 'Your school uniform'.
Bottoms: Girls can choose between the Guides shorts, Girlguiding cargo trousers or Harvington Guides navy leggings. Girls may also choose to wear their own non-uniformed bottoms or old Guides skirts/dresses.
On formal occasions (eg. Remembrance sunday) girls will need to wear either a Guides dress/skirt, navy cargo trousers or smart navy school skirt/trousers.
Sashes/badge tabs: Guides can choose to wear a badge tab or sash. Badge tabs are great for displaying pin badges, and sashes are great for all badges. We recommend Guides sew their badges onto a sash, so their uniform can be passed down or sized up.
Tops: Our Rangers can wear either a Rangers T-shirt or a Girlguiding shirt. All Rangers must have a uniform top. Financial support and second-hand options are available.
Jumpers: Rangers should wear a uniform jumper. They can choose one of our unit hoodies/sweatshirts or the official Girlguiding Ranger hoody.
Bottoms: Rangers can choose between Girlguiding cargo trousers, shorts or their own bottoms. Navy cargo trousers or smart navy skirts/trousers will need to be worn with uniform for formal occasions and parades.
Badge tabs/ sashes: Rangers can choose to wear their pin badges (Promise, Patrol and top awards) on a Girlguiding badge tab. Badges may also be worn on a sash. It is up to girls how they display their badges.
Young Leaders should wear a young leader or Rangers uniform.
This includes a t-shirt or shirt and jumper. Girls may also wish to wear uniform shorts or cargo trousers.
Our young leaders also wear our necker, along with Guides and adult Leaders. Young Leaders can wear a badge tab or a sash to display their promise pin, young leader awards and other badges.
Harvington Guides and Rangers wear their own unit neckers. These must be worn each week and can be fastened with either a friendship knot or a woggle. Our neckers have been carefully designed by the girls themselves!
Each girl receives a necker when they join. Replacement neckers cost £7.00. You will only need to purchase a necker if you loose the one you were given. See the video here for how to tie your Necker. We kindly asked that neckers are returned when you leave the unit.
For Guides who would prefer a woggle, they can choose one of the below options:
