Welcome to Our Website! Take a look around and get in touch today!
We are proud to be a uniformed organisation, it is one of the many parts of Girlguiding that are special and brings us together as a group. Unless specified, all of our Guides should wear their uniform to all unit meetings, trips and events. Guides can sew their badges onto their uniforms, a camp blanket or another place of their choosing. Find badge guidance here.
Please see the uniform options for our members below. Official uniform can be bought from https://www.girlguidingshop.co.uk/. Our unit specific items are available from www.yourschooluniform.com.
We encourage our members to think about sustainability and take a look in charity shops or second hand websites such as vinted to buy their uniform too. We have a small amount of second hand uniform for sale directly from the unit. Take a look here.
Tops: Girls can choose between two tops, a short sleeved polo or a long sleeved top. If they are choosing to wear a Guides dress, this can be worn with a uniform or plain top.
Bottoms: Girls can choose between the Guides skirt, dress or Harvington Guides navy leggings. Girls may also choose to wear their own non-uniformed bottoms.
On formal occasions (eg. Remembrance sunday) girls will need to wear either a Guides dress/skirt or smart navy school skirt/trousers.
Jumpers: Guides should also wear a uniform jumper and they can choose between our own navy hoodie/zipped hoodie/fleece, or the official Guides zipped jacket. For our unit meetings, trips and residentials many of our Guides prefer our unit navy jumpers as they are comfier, cheaper and can be worn more outside of Guides.
Our own Unit Branded hoodies/fleeces cost £16.99+ and can be purchased at the link below (yourschooluniform.com) and official guides jackets cost £23.50 can be purchased from the Girlguiding shop (also linked below).
Tops: Our Rangers can wear either a Rangers shirt or polo top. Badges can be sewn onto shirts, tops or jumpers if you would like.
Jumpers: Rangers should wear a uniform jumper. They can choose one of our unit hoodies/sweatshirts or the official Girlguiding Ranger Jacket.
Bottoms: Rangers may also choose to wear their own non-uniformed bottoms. On formal occasions (eg. Remembrance sunday) girls will need to wear a smart navy school skirt/trousers.
Badge tabs: Our Rangers wear their promise badge and other metal badges, such as their Guide gold, Commonwealth award or young leader badge, on a badge tab. This not only helps you look smart but protects your uniform too! Rangers can wear either the Ranger badge or the Young leader badge tab.
Harvington Guides and Rangers wear their own unit neckers. These must be worn each week and can be fastened with either a friendship knot or a woggle. Our neckers have been carefully designed by the girls themselves!
Each girl receives a necker when they join. Replacement neckers cost £7.00. You will only need to purchase a necker if you loose the one you were given. See the video here for how to tie your Necker. We kindly asked that neckers are returned when you leave the unit.
For Guides who would prefer a woggle, they can choose one of the below options:
Young Leaders should wear a young leader polo top or Rangers uniform. They can choose to wear a young leader hoodie too. Our young leaders also wear our necker, along with Guides and adult Leaders. Young Leaders can wear a badge tab to display their promise and other pin badges.
